T.E.A.M. Milken Mentor Program
Join the T.E.A.M. Milken MENTOR PROGRAM!
The T.E.A.M. Milken Mentor Program is designed to help students succeed personally, professionally, and academically. Open to all GWSPH undergraduate majors, the program pairs first-year and second-year students with experienced third-year and fourth-year mentors who can provide support, guidance, and connection.
Through mentorship, events, and community building, T.E.A.M. Milken empowers students to:
- Transition into college life with support from Orientation, the Milken LLC, and our First-Year Experience course.
- Focus on Academics with help from advisors, Student Success Coaches, and academic programming.
- Build Engagement by joining orgs, attending events, and exploring Professional Enhancement opportunities.
- Find meaningful Mentorship through peer connections, faculty relationships, research, internships, and the Mentor Program.
The goal of T.E.A.M. Milken is to ensure every GWSPH student feels supported, connected, and prepared for their studies--and future career--in public health!

- Review this virtual training recording to familiarize yourself with the program prior to the kick-off event next week. You must be signed into your GW email address in order to view the recording. (Note: this recording is from a prior year, and some aspects may differ.)
- Meet monthly with your mentee(s).
- Track your outreach through the new T.E.A.M. Milken Outreach Log
- For returning mentors, this is replacing the bingo card and other previous forms. Mentors must submit at least one log entry per month in order to earn all four Professional Enhancement hours.
- Complete an end-of-year survey.
Mentor Log
To receive their Professional Enhancement hours, all mentors are asked to log their engagement with mentees throughout the academic year. The Mentor Log allows mentors to record:
- Type of engagement (text, email, call, in-person meeting, event attendance, etc.)
- Topics discussed (academics, career goals, wellness, community, etc.)
- Mentee engagement level
- Notes or reflections
This log helps the program track participation, ensure mentees receive consistent support, and provide resources where needed.
- Mentees
- EXPECTATIONS:
- Stay engaged and responsive to your mentor’s outreach.
- Make time to connect with your mentor at least once a month.
